Karen Hume
Karen Hume will host one of oue Luncheon Salons during the Friday conference. Karen's Salon topic is "Young Adolescents: What Are They All About?"
Karen Hume is a twenty-three year educator, currently on leave from her role as
Education Officer for Student Success at a large southern Ontario board. During her
leave, Karen has written new literacy resources for grades 7 and 8, and professional
learning resources in the area of her passion—differentiated instruction for the young
adolescent learner. Karen works with educators across Canada, sharing the practical
tips that she wrote about in Start Where They Are: Differentiating for Success with the Young Adolescent, and encouraging teachers and administrators to make the small, single changes that result in increasingly effective and increasingly responsive
classrooms and schools.
